The 29th of October marks the World Psoriasis Day. Psoriasis is a non-contagious immune-mediated disease that causes body inflammation, and its cause is not yet fully understandable by scientists. The most famous sign of psoriasis are the skin plaques and scales. One in three people with psoriasis may also develop psoriatic arthritis. Signs of Psoriatic arthritis include swelling, stiffness and pain in the joints and areas surrounding the joints. Symptoms of psoriasis can start at any age, but usually start between ages 15 and 25. Till now there is no cure for psoriasis, however effective treatments are available, improving symptoms and reducing disease progression.
